Same Day Edit
Well here is my first “Same Day Edit” video I made 2 weeks ago. It was kinda challenging. The editing wasn’t the problem, it was the transcoding. It was taking forever to transcode the footage to a ProRes codec. I was transcoding during the ceremony, on the way to the reception. Just about any down time I had, transcoding was going on. Im sure the new version of FCP will have native h.264 editing. Can’t wait for that. My buddy Pete just told me his work flow, and man, really wish i did it his way. Well, its all a learning experience. I had a blast doing it though. Love the rush of having a tight deadline. I didn’t do anything to the color of the video. Thanks to Kana and Dustin for the help.

Same Day Edit Practice
I was practicing for a SDE ( Same Day Edit- a wedding day highlight to be shown at the reception) im going to be doing this weekend. I edited a quick video of last week wedding I shot. This edit took me about 30 mins, so should be all good for this saturday. **crossing fingers**

June Bug
Been super busy with work this past month, but that shouldn’t be an excuse of why I have not been updating this blog. I need to get back into this. Kana graduated from Academy of Arts earlier in the month. Super proud of her!! Also went to Shing02 and Emi Meyer’s show at the Rockit room. Good music , good vibes, good times!! Went skating a bunch this month as well. Trying to skate more before my bones give out on me lol.
To old to be jumping fences so I try my best to squeeze through. Suck in the beer belly!! lol

Foggy
It’s been pretty foggy here in SF these past few days. Well at least this part of SF it has been. But the funny thing is, its really warm and humid. Almost feels like you are on a tropical island. Windows wide open all day and sleeping with no blankets. I can definitely get used to this. Here is a 1.5 hr timelapse of the fog passing through. Also went to drop off Dhon at the hospital to drain some kind of liquid coming out of his foot. Gross!! lol

Pete Rock X J Rocc
Went to SOM SF to film Pete Rock for Mixcrate.com last Saturday night. Its been a minute since I was out at a party. Couldn’t pass this up even if I was going to be that guy at the party carrying a camera lol. Legendary Pete Rock and also Beat Junkies J Rocc throwing down on the ones and twos. The music was off the hook all night long. Took a few snaps and filmed a little. Full story coming soon on Mixcrate.com.

Poreotics X Fatlace
The Poreotics from MTV’s Americas best dance crew was doing a meet and greet at Fatlace over the weekend. Lots of people came out to meet these young talented Asian guys. I checked them out on youtube when I got home and wow, these guys can dance pretty good. Nice to see more Asian Americans in main stream media. I had to film some drops and quick dance moves for a commercial im working on for the 601lb crew. Its for their Kababayan festival which is happening this summer. More on that later.

Thursday Skate Seshy
Thursday was to nice to be indoors working, so I decided to take a few hours off to go skate downtown. Hooked up with Carlo P and in4mant’s Benard Benardo at my house and we headed out to the island/ clock tower. Before getting on the train, i took a pretty hard spill. Never try to ollie up a curb with huge soft wheels and loose trucks while holding a DSLR camera. Wheel Bite City!! lol. Got down to the island and rolled around for a bit. Then headed to Pier 7, which is skateable again. Skated for a good 30 mins, then got the email from work saying they needed some files. So I called it a day and rushed back home. I definitely need to start skating more.

Orlando Food
Food sucks in Orlando no joke. The only thing I enjoyed was dessert and the beer. Everything else tasted like crap, not that I have ever ate crap before, but im sure it taste very similar. So happy to be back in SF eating good food!!

Mr. Woods
Call time was at 7am sharp. Didn’t really get a good nights rest maybe because of the anticipation of shooting a Golf God. Met up with the production crew to do some all day shooting under the hot Florida sun. Its pretty insane how everything worked out. You can’t waste a second when working with Tiger. His time is super valuable which means you have to get the shot right the first time. He was a lot of fun to work with though. Very easy going and chill. A bit nervous and star struck in the beginning, but after a while it was all good. His new game is coming out next month so be on the look out.

Grand Cypress
Was in Florida a few days filming some Tiger Woods virals for EA. Stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress which was really close to Disney World and 3 mins away from the golf course. The hotel is a resort in itself. Rock climbing, bike riding, kayaking, swimming, beach volleyball, waterslides are just some of the things you can do there. Definitely want to come back with the wifey and Haru. Maybe this summer.

Miss You
Yuko Yaegashi and Apollo Fransico may you rest in peace. I haven’t had anybody close to me pass away in a real long time. Its very sad to know that they are gone now. I never got the chance to meet Apollo, but I always kept up with his update through KMOS’s photos. Was hoping one day I will meet the little guy, but now he will be watching over his family in heaven. I met Yuko sensei about 3 years ago. She had a very warm positive aura which made me feel really comfortable being around her. Her family is so warm and giving as well. Kana and I visited her at the hospital a week before she passed. She was in strong spirits and very happy. I knew for sure that we were going to see her again, but unfortunately her sickness got the best of her. She is survived by her husband David and daughter Saya. We just had a memorial service for her over the weekend and listening to everybody’s speeches, Yuko touched everybody in some way. I can’t imagine what both families are going through. We are here for you all. May you both rest in peace.

Goofing around
Was in Florida for a couple of days shooting some stuff for some company. Can’t really talk about it to much but it was intense shooting the whole 12 hrs. Got done pretty early on Tuesday so I headed back to my hotel for some swimming.
